Austin joins father as premiership player
For George Austin, Harrow Balmoral's premiership was an extra special one. Not only did the 18-year-old break into a strong team in his first year out of under-17s, but he has joined his father, Tom, as a premiership player with the club, 20 years from Tom's third and last premiership with the club.
Tom was a member of the 1999, 2002, and 2004 winning sides and was named the first rover in the first team of the decade that Harrow Balmoral held. He has been involved in the club ever since, from a coach to a runner for the senior team.
George was nearly speechless after the win and said it was special.
"It's so special to win with all my great mates," Austin said.
"I have formed many friendships, and it feels so special to win something with all these mates as we have worked so hard this year, and the hard work has paid off.
"Being able to enjoy it with my father and everyone is a special feeling. We are a family club, and it's just unbelievable, and it's a moment I am going to enjoy with the boys for a long time."
